7 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE WrestleMania VII
3. Scorched Earth
One of a scant few Ultimate Warrior classics, this WrestleMania masterpiece is perhaps the biggest creative victory of Randy Savage's career, even if it brought his own to a kayfabe halt.
Ahead of an emotional reunion with Miss Elizabeth, Randy gave his body and his body of work to the cause in an exhausting, exhilarating epic, including sacrificing his finisher for the good of the game.
The Macho King hit five flying elbows without response in order to put his foe away, but Warrior's kickout left both and eventual comeback left him and the crowd entirely aghast. The aforementioned post-match theatrics - Elizabeth chasing off Savage's bitter ex-'Queen' Sensational Sherri and accepting his embrace once again - had people bawling their eyes out in the stands.
Before the match, those same fans had called for his bloody departure. Now, they were desperate for him to stay.
