7. The Showstopper, The Headliner, The Main Event
Subjectively sh*t-canned but objectively outstanding, the WrestleMania XX headliner is less a world class war and yet another cogent discussion on the ethics of art vs artist. It's glib to parrot indifferent message boards and call it a "shame" considering the abhorrent final actions of match-winner and pay-per-view MVP Benoit, but the sheer glory of it all was vital to the hair-trigger tension in the bout.
Rivals on screen ever since 'HBK's heroic comeback, Triple H and Shawn Michaels were in reality the establishment a fan favourite like Benoit was all-too-used to running into. Headlong too, evidently.
Switch him out, (or switch his actions off, if you can) and there's to be found a truly magnificent Mania main. Discretion, quite plainly, is advised.
