No, that rotten joke isn't said with any glee. This writer has always been a big Goldberg mark, but WWE's booking of the man has ground even the biggest fan of this ex-WCW star down by constantly booking him like some "Break Glass In Case Of Emergency" creative out.

Goldberg never once came across as a genuine threat to Roman Reigns or the Universal strap during his Elimination Chamber title tilt. WWE had long-since started the tale with Brock Lesnar, so that was Roman's ongoing concern. Bill was a secondary one, and everyone knew Reigns was winning in Saudi.

Their match was brief enough to be inoffensive, sure, but it was ultimately pointless. How many times can Goldberg launch a World Title comeback before it starts to get silly? The answer: WWE's go-to strategy with the legend got silly a long, long time ago.
