WWE’s go-home Raw before its latest installment of “We love Saudi money more than humanistic principles” was another disappointing affair, as the show treaded water Monday night, mainly due to building to a “WrestleMania-equivalent” show whose three biggest matches have had next-to-zero build.

The Saudi Arabia shows have been basically glorified house shows, making the build on Raw and SmackDown less than captivating. Throw in Brock Lesnar’s ongoing bait-and-switch routine, Shane McMahon preening and more Baron Corbin and you have a recipe for a substandard Raw.

Oh, and let’s add in some arm wrestling and praising a disgraced former athlete (no, not Hulk Hogan).

The women (who won’t be featured at Super Showdown because, well, they’re women and not welcome there) made some positive contributions, with Becky Lynch vowing to not be complacent, and Alexa Bliss getting back into the mix a little. Seth Rollins took a massive beating, so that should be commended too.

But the show-stealer on this episode was Bray Wyatt, who clearly is enjoying himself with his new character. Let’s just pray that somehow, they manage to follow through with this new iteration, because you don’t get a lot of do-overs.

WWE really needs to figure out how to turn things around and deliver a solid, consistent episode, because substandard is becoming the new normal in 2019.

Let’s get to it…
