6. Lacey Wins In Weakest Way Possible

On a night with multiple crappy finishes, you can toss this one onto the heap.

Lacey Evans and Natalya had their “much-anticipated” rubber match Monday night, with the Sassy Southern Belle getting the all-critical victory – by raking the eyes and getting a cheap rollup. Way to make a star.

And then just to really make it worse, Evans immediately laid out Nattie with a Woman’s Right after the match. So rather than have Lacey decisively beat Natalya to build her up, they had her cheat (which is fine on its own) to gain an advantage, and then use a rollup to “win” the feud (presumably).

But having Evans lay out Nattie negated any rationale for the cheap finish. If we had seen Lacey repeatedly unable to hold Neidhart down and finally using Ric Flair’s pin-in-the-corner-with-feet-on-the-ropes trick to win, that would have been one thing. But WWE is clearly trying to build Evans up as a double-tough woman, not the conniving weakling.
