It must be said that Jake Atlas seems to be improving each and every time we see the lad step in-between the ropes. However, his performance against Tony Nese last night might just be the beginning of something special for the athletic babyface.

Nese has always had heart in bucketloads, yet he's often come across as a star just happy to be on TV. His recent mini-feud with Tommaso Ciampa seems to have given him the kick up the arse he was desperately in need of, though, as he's showcased a more aggressive and focused edge ever since.
Despite this, Atlas still hasn't put together a string of victories to announce himself as a serious threat going forward. So, his victory tonight, along with the actual shift he put in to achieve it, will hopefully set him down the right path.

If his interview with McKenzie Mitchell post-match was anything to go by, Atlas has his heart set on being the star to dethrone Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar. If this means we're about to see the likeable face battle his way back into contendership with a few more displays like this, then sign us up.
