3. Stand And Deliver
Not every “jump out your seat” moment when watching a wrestling match is a highspot like a twisting moonsault or dive to the floor. Sometimes, two guys just standing there punching each other can bring fans to their feet.
Ricochet and Adam Cole certainly had their share of insane highspots – Cole’s superkick while Ricochet was attempting a moonsault should be on regular replay – but it was what followed it that really brought the match to a fever pitch.
The NXT North American Champion had been berating Ricochet as not being special, when the challenger began striking back. The two exchanged a series of kicks and strikes, with each one knocking the other loopy. They proceeded to wallop each other for what felt like an eternity, and the fans grew more and more unglued by the strike.
This was followed by a leaping hurricanrana to the floor and a 630 splash, giving Ricochet his first NXT championship, but we’ll give the big ups to the mutual beatdown in the middle of the ring.
