After his star-making performance at the last TakeOver PPV, could Velveteen Dream continue to raise the bar on Saturday night?

The answer was a polite “no,” but that didn’t make his match against Kassius Ohno a disappointment. Dream had another hard-hitting match against a strong veteran, winning this bout with a Purple Rainmaker elbow from the ringpost. He stood toe-to-toe with Ohno on punches/forearms and kept coming, even after a cyclone kick and a series of stiff forearms.

This was the kind of win Velveteen needs to up his profile. He clearly has a bright future, and wins like this will only help him. Hats off to Kassius for making him look like a million bucks while also looking solid himself. He has been great in that role for NXT since returning to the company.
