7 Ups And 3 Downs From WWE NXT TakeOver: Toronto
Three awesome title matches, Glorious entrances and absolutely no filler.
There are times when you really have to wish that WWE brass was sitting and taking notes during an NXT TakeOver special event. They know how to make these quarterly PPVs feel really special, but they also excel at delivering, not just in the ring, but with the storylines themselves.
It’s rare you walk away from a TakeOver and wonder, “What the hell were they thinking when they booked that?” Saturday’s TakeOver: Toronto is no exception. The booking was logical, and the matches were phenomenal. It was yet another superb special event from WWE’s developmental territory, with four of the five matches providing a lot of excitement and enjoyment.
Even the other match on the card, the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finals, gave two young tag teams a spotlight and hopefully managed to set them up as future stars in the division. That’s a pretty damn successful PPV.
NXT gave its fans a really good show that once again set the bar high for the main roster to top the following day. We’ll have to see if Survivor Series can match the intensity and overall quality that TakeOver had on display.
