If you’re going to fake an injury, it’s probably best to really, really sell it like Randy Orton did this weekend and Monday night.

Orton apparently was injured at a house show over the weekend, getting helped out of the ring and being taken out of the arena in a wheelchair. It led to speculation about how serious the injury was online. Monday, he came to Raw to talk about how bad the injury was and whether he’d compete again.

Cue AJ Styles to gloat and mock Orton, offering himself up for an RKO in case Randy was faking, but the Viper didn’t bite. Then Styles kicked out a crutch from under Orton and told him he would retire him at WrestleMania. That was Orton’s cue to note that he wasn’t as patient as AJ… and hit an RKO on him.

Yup, Orton was faking the injured knee just to lure Styles in. Very nicely done.
