7 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 27)

Stupid heel turn, ongoing feud overshadow surprise return, awesome title bout.

Monday night, we got a tale of two Raws.

It was a Raw with a really good Intercontinental Championship match and a promise of a major main event, and it was a Raw with squashes and short matches galore.

It was a Raw with an intriguing storyline being launched, and it was a Raw with a mind-bendingly stupid angle.

It was a Raw that delivered a pretty cool surprise, and it was a Raw that left fans flummoxed.

Raw had the problem of trying to do a lot in one week, and in the process stumbled quite a bit. While there were some notable positives, the negatives were pretty damn glaring. Why is the feud between Baron Corbin and Finn Balor continuing? Can’t Balor just annihilate him once and for all, or have Corbin banish him to 205 Live? Pick one.

And in the biggest middle finger, WWE insisted on going completely against their fanbase because they weren’t cheering who they were supposed to, but maybe that’s the genius of Vince McMahon, doing what fans hate so they’ll tune in to see if they’re rewarded for their opposition.
