On the flip side of the stupid writing that set up Heavy Machinery’s gauntlet match, let’s give credit to the fact that it actually happened.

The NXT callups have been treading water, though they’ve at least won a few matches. They actually have some potential as tag title contenders, so WWE decided to put them over some of the lesser tag teams on Raw… which they did all at once.

Heavy Machinery ran through the B-Team, Ascension and Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins in short order, taking out all three teams. The match(es) were nothing special, but they got the point across: Otis and Tucker are a step above them all and can get the job done in the ring.

The only gripe about the match itself: They should have run through the three teams in more impressive fashion. Seriously, are we trying to preserve The Ascension’s heat here?
