4. Jericho Is Not Cannon Fodder

Chris Jericho is a six-time world champion and nine-time Intercontinental Champion. That doesn’t make him untouchable at this stage in his career, but it should afford him some dignity and character protection.

Y2J has been gold in his most recent run with the company, and his team-up with Kevin Owens has been a high point of Raw most weeks. There have been a few times where Jericho has lost matches, and while it can be damaging if a person – no matter how well established – loses too many matches (see Kane and Big Show), the occasional loss isn’t going to diminish Jericho.

But in one episode of Raw, Jericho lost cleanly to Seth Rollins (which is fine) and then ate a Roman Reigns spear to close out Raw. Either of those items on their own would be OK, but when Jericho gets owned twice in the ring in a 90-minute span, that’s a bit much.
