5. ‘This Is History’
Announcers are prone to hyperbole. It’s just the nature of things.
But when one of them says something so incredibly stupid, the other has to call it out, lest it hang out there to be regarded as truth by the less knowledgeable, and ridiculed by those who know better.
Case in point: Jerry Lawler asked when was the last time a married couple competed together in a match, calling it “history” because he couldn’t remember a time when it happened before.
Except, it has happened. Like a ton. Just in the past two years, we’ve seen multiple married couples team up, including:
· Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella.· Miz and Maryse.· Jimmy Uso and Naomi.· Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.· And of course, Rusev and Lana.
And you could put up an asterisk for Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, who got engaged shortly after their stint together as a tag team.
That’s certainly not history.
