With the announcement that the main event at Night of Champions will feature a rematch between newly crowned WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and John Cena, fans worldwide responded with a collective groan of indifference. Coming off Lesnars brutal beatdown of Cena at SummerSlam, it doesnt feel like a rematch is warranted. That was as decisive of a victory in a title match that weve seen in modern WWE. Night of Champions is a very important show. It takes place during the renewal period for the initial Network subscribers, and if the company wishes to entice those people to re-up a second time, theyre going to have to deliver something monumental. Since we will have just seen this match a few weeks prior, theyre going to need to turn it into a spectacle for the fans to be willing to lock in for another six month commitment.
