8 Awesome Ways For Seth Rollins To Return To WWE In 2016

How the return of Seth Rollins can go down in WWE history as one of the greatest of all-time.

When talk of Seth Rollins possibly being injured at a house show in Dublin first surfaced via social media, it was hard to take it too seriously. After all, similar claims have been made almost countless times in the past, though the shocking footage of the WWE World Heavyweight Champion's leg buckling beneath him certainly pointed to a potentially worrying outcome. I was actually at WWE Cardiff on Thursday night when Ric Flair announced that Seth Rollins wouldn't be in the main event due to an injury. The announcement was met with a chorus of boos, something which says it all about what a well-liked performer Rollins has become over the past year (despite being the company's top heel). However, it wasn't until I logged on to WhatCulture.com hours later that I learned the severity of Seth's injury and the fact that he's not going to competing again until well into 2016. While his return to action feels like a very long way away, it's hard not to immediately start thinking of the ways in which Rollins could be brought back to the WWE. The former ring-master of The Shield has transformed himself into a huge star in 2015, so there's no way he'll just pop back up on a random SmackDown at some point next year as a Superstar like Rusev surely will in a few weeks time. So, what are the biggest, best, and most shocking ways for Seth Rollins to come back to the WWE? Well...

8. To Take Revenge On The Authority

Depending on how this Monday's Raw plays out, this may or may not work next year. Ideally, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon will bury Rollins, stating that he let them down and clearly wasn't ready to be the face of the WWE. That's something which is sure to make The Authority even more despised, especially as what's happened to Seth is something even those who hate his character can appreciate is a real blow to an athlete. To talk about him in this way after such a career threatening injury will establish that they're only out to use those around them and never truly cared about Rollins. This would plant the seeds for Rollins to return with a grudge against his former allies in 2016. There had been rumours of a match between Rollins and Triple H at some point in the near future, and that's exactly what this storyline should culminate with; the self proclaimed Future, furious at being swept aside by those who claimed to have faith in him, taking his revenge. This would turn Rollins into an instant fan favourite fans can get behind, especially if he first targets whoever is chosen to take his place as the face of the WWE, building to a match with The Game on a stage as grand as SummerSlam.
