CM Punk's departure from WWE earlier this year has had the wrestling world talking about one issue, and one issue only. Will he return? Yesterday, on his long-time friend Colt Cabana's podcast, we got a pretty emphatic no. Punk cited a number of different reasons as to why he left the company the night of the Raw following the Royal Rumble. This was mainly down to monetary, creative and medical related issues. For a full run down of the issues he brought up, click here. Punk's disagreements with management is nothing new. It is merely the latest chapter in the most interesting of novels. Wrestlers have big egos. They all want to be the guy who is at the top of the card, holding the biggest championships and selling out arenas around the world. Unfortunately, not everyone can hold those spots and the superstars deal with this realism in a number of differing ways. Some grin and bare it, others complain and receive reassurances while the rest go into a complete strop and breach their own individual contracts. And it's that last point that brings us here. We all love a good backstage stories that wrestling bosses don't want to be released into the public's consciousness. More often than not they do. Punk's Art of Wrestling podcast appearance was unique in terms of the way backstage gossip breaks out, not that we're complaining.
