The Enzo Amore experiment is over and WWE's Cruiserweight division will have to move on after the ex-Champion was released on Tuesday amidst controversial circumstances.

This is just the latest mis-step for a division that hasn't exactly been singing since the Cruiserweight Classic concluded in September 2016. TJ Perkins, the initial champ, flopped badly. He was followed by short reigns for Brian Kendrick and Rich Swann (who is having some legal problems of his own), before Neville appeared to save the day.

Now, even Neville is on hiatus with no timeline for a return. This curse has impacted other champions too; Akira Tozawa's six-day reign was pointless, Kalisto's title run was treated like a demotion, and Enzo's rape allegations have ruined WWE's plans for the Royal Rumble.
