Spear! Spear! Spear! Roman Reigns is the number one guy in World Wrestling Entertainment today, and his spear has put down everyone he has hit with it who doesn’t happen to be a wrestling mortician zombie or Brock freakin’ Lesnar. With the right guy, Reigns’ spear looks fairly convincing, but when you compare it to Goldberg in the late-'90s, you once again have a night and day situation.

Reigns, and Edge before him, sort of jump into the spear, which takes a lot of the impact out of it. Goldberg however, had a tendency to run straight through his opponents, leaving them easy prey for a Jackhammer. Heck, when Old Willie G came over to WWE he still ran through opponents, but in the years since the move has become more of a jumping tackle than a knife through the stomach.
