8. Askar Askarov Vs. Ray Borg

Despite winning a close decision against Tim Elliot, Askar Askarov did show fans that he has the potential to be a force in the flyweight division. The first round was Askarov's finest as he rocked Elliot with a crushing overhand right, before landing some good ground and pound on his opponent.

He showed some decent grappling skills, but there were moments where he struggled to deal with Elliot on the ground. This happened mostly during their scrambles and some might say that if Tim Elliot was better at locking up submissions during these moments, he could've finished this fight, as he had a couple of clear cut opportunities to do so.

If the UFC really want to give the Russian a challenge, setting him up against Ray Borg would be a great test for him. Borg is exceptionally dangerous during scrambles and has the ability to punish Askarov in ways that Elliot couldn't. That way we'll find out if the UFC have a new contender at 125lb.
