Triple H's premium live events are falling into familiar traps at present.
The stories that he's done a good job of progressing move a long at a nice, suspenseful pace. Payoffs are there to be had if the time's right, and there have been more than a handful of creatively satisfying outcomes to boot. But he still can't quite find his happy medium between Vince McMahon's old PLEs and his once-beloved TakeOvers.
He's putting less matches out there to try and capture the tight-feeling NXT supershows of old, but he's giving five minutes more than needed (at a minimum) to contests that simply don't need it. The shows feel longer than they should even when a lot of the stuff is good, leaving a certain feeling of exhaustion as the card fades to black.
What flies wildly in the face of all of this is the fact that he booked one of the best angles in WWE history to close the Royal Rumble, and that instantly sold this show. A card with significant WrestleMania implications is rare at this time of year, but 'The Game' has at least managed that. The Chambers won't be easy to keep concise, but everything else is set-up nicely for yet another Sports Entertainment masterclass.

8. Edge & Beth Phoenix Vs The Judgment Day
This is awesome.
Edge Vs The Judgment Day has been going on since the group kicked him out last June, but the way the story has pivoted between serious and silly based on the situational moods of the characters has honestly been one of the best things Triple H has handled since taking charge.
This mixed tag match kicks ass, but it can have a bit of fun mixed in with the fury. Edge with levity is the best Edge at this point, and if everything needs to get angry one last time for a projected Hell In A Cell payoff with Bálor at WrestleMania, the quartet alongside with Dominik Mysterio can have a good knockabout effort here.
With Rey Mysterio likely to run off his son before the match has concluded but after he's taking a beating from Beth, 'The Nightmare' can yet again clean up the mess her beau has made. Beating Beth Phoenix is a legitimate feather in her cap en route to surely, surely dethroning Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania.
