8 Incredible Ideas WWE Abandoned IMMEDIATELY

3. GTV

The premise was simple. During the Attitude Era, broadcasts would seemingly be hijacked by something called GTV. Showing grainy hidden camera footage of backstage situations, this felt like a great idea that could not only help out literally any feud, but also end in one of the roster being behind the whole thing and quickly becoming one of the biggest heels in the company.

With this whole thing happening in 1999, GTV was used for some nonsense like Billy Gunn checking out his own ass, and Val Venis putting socks in his tights to make his manhood seem larger (oh, Vince), but the core idea had loads of potential. From main event feuds to helping give lower card talent TV time or aid in establishing their character, this felt like an idea that had legs.

It then just stopped. Completely ended. There is a story that exists that MTV comedian Tom Green was going to be behind the whole thing and that Vince McMahon canned the whole thing because he thought Green wasn't funny, but this remains one of WWE's best underutilized ideas.
