WWE Survivor Series 2017 is right around the corner and it’s been a road paved with plenty of twists and turns.

The show’s seen a number of line-up changes since the build-up began back in October, with adjustments being made right up until the go-home shows this past week. On Monday night, we saw Triple H announced as the fifth and final member on Team Raw in the five-on-five elimination match, while the following evening gave us a SmackDown Women’s title change that had repercussions for a pair of matches on this Sunday’s pay-per-view.

Factor in other alterations such as The Shield losing their Raw tag titles and being lined up to face the New Day as a result, plus of course AJ Styles replacing Jinder Mahal in the champion vs. champion bout versus Brock Lesnar, and we’re looking at a card that’s slowly but surely shaped up better and better with each passing week.

And even now, at the 11th hour, we’re still hearing rumours about possible developments, potential outcomes and future plans that could play out off the back of the show. Here, we round-up eight such rumours ahead of this Sunday’s Survivor Series.

8. Paige Returning To Team SmackDown

This past Tuesday, Charlotte defeated Natalya to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship—a title change that has a twofold effect on the Survivor Series card.

Not only does Charlotte’s win mean that she’ll now take Natalya’s place against Alexa Bliss in the inter-promotional women’s bout, it also opens up a spot on the SmackDown team in the female five-on-five elimination match. The most logical quickfix would be to have Natalya simply take that place, but with WWE.com having since hyped up the big reveal of the mystery fifth member, you get the impression the company could have another surprise in store here.

Or at least, that’s what British tabloid newspaper The Daily Star seems to think. They’ve reported, citing CagesideSeats.com, that “there is indeed speculation involving Paige (real name Saraya-Jade Bevis), 25, and a surprise return in Houston, Texas.”

Switching things up and adding Paige to Team SmackDown could explain why she didn’t make her long-awaited return on Raw this past week, despite being in attendance at the show.
