8 Most EVIL People In Wrestling History
3. Juana Barraza
Have you heard of Juana Barrazza? You don't need to be a Lucha Libre or pro-wrestling fan to have known of her work.
In an 8-year spell between the late-1990s and early-2000s, Barraza targeted women aged 60 and older who lived alone, gained their trust by posing as a government social welfare official, then bludgeoned or strangled them before robbing them. It's worth noting that Barraza endured severe abuse as a child; her mother, Justa Samperio, struggled with alcoholism and allegedly exchanged her to a man for three beers where she was repeatedly raped and became pregnant with a son. But authorities concluded that Barraza was by this point a remorseless psychopath who projected her resentment toward her mother onto her elderly victims, believing that by killing them she was somehow helping society.
Though not yet featured in a Dark Side Of The Ring special, her story was the subject of a Netflix documentary entitled "The Lady of Silence: The Mataviejitas Murders", which revealed that while she was in the industry and purchased a belt and gear, few had ever actually seen her wrestle. Several speculated that the double life narrative provided tabloid journalists with the perfect story, even if the Lucha Libre half of the tale had been artificially enhanced.
