5. The Hardy Boyz And Edge & Christian Steal The Show
No Mercy 1999. Main event: Triple H vs. Stone Cold for the WWE Championship. Remember that match? No? Me neither. But I'll tell you what everyone remembers from that Pay-Per-View: The Hardy Boyz vs. Edge & Christian in the very first tag team ladder match. Prior to No Mercy, these two tag teams were nothing more than a group of talented up-and-comers desperately trying to get over with the fans. The only problem was that unless you were the New Age Outlaws, no one tended to pay attention to the tag team division. So, in that case, you do whatever you have to to get noticed. This match was pure gold. It was every Attitude Era wrestling fan's wet dream. There was no downtime in this match (which was pretty much the exact opposite of the other matches on the card), with the daredevil stunts escalating to heights that WWE fans had never seen before. It was a beautiful ballet of carnage, culminating in the quintessential match of both teams' careers. And the crowd knew it, rising to their feet for a standing ovation. This one ladder match effectively relaunched the WWE's Tag Team Division, and created another handful of superstars in the process, who each would go on to have a solid run at individual gold, as well.
