8 Most Pointless WWE PPV Matches Of 2017 (So Far)
5. Six-Pack Challenge (WrestleMania 33)
Older fans will remember seeing women's matches put on right before pay-per-view main events. Often, these matches followed another marquee outing, and it came across loud and clear that skipping the female bout wouldn't really matter. WrestleMania 33 had that feel, which is a real shame considering the finish to this Six-Pack Challenge.
We get that 'Mania is supposed to be some sort of pop culture melting pot, but would dropping Pitbull's unwanted set and adding the minutes onto this SmackDown Women's Title match have hurt? Instead, Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, Carmella, Natalya, Becky Lynch, and Naomi were handed a measly five-minute window to work with.
That wasn't nearly enough, and it cheapened Naomi's big title win come home-town celebration. This was filler (despite the title switch) when it should have felt meaningful. Putting the match in between Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker also didn't help.
Curse you, Pitbull.
