7. Most Late Entries

As mentioned in an article earlier, a late entry into the Royal Rumble greatly increases your chances of winning. In fact, of the 35 previous men’s Rumbles, 12 winners had entered the match at one of the last five slots.

Three men were tied going into Saturday having drawn one of those last five slots (#26-#30 in a traditional 30-man Rumble) with five entries each: Kane, Big Show and Randy Orton. On Saturday, Orton drew #29, giving him a sixth late entry into the Rumble.

It turns out that pulling that number wasn’t so lucky for him, as he was tossed in less than three minutes – in his hometown. Gotta love WWE’s clever booking…
