8 Reasons WWE Will Regret Releasing Sasha Banks
8. Fan Backlash
It has seemed for a while now that the days of The Yes Movement and similar groundswells of fan support or dissent are behind us. While discerning fans seek out AEW or other alternatives, WWE have done a good job of cultivating a core audience who will meekly accept what they’re given.
Almost too good a job in fact. When fans were asked recently to cheer for Lacey Evans, in what was meant to register as a heat seeking, heelish demand, the faithful in the arena simply did as they were told.
All that said, Sasha Banks has one of the most devoted followings in all of pro-wrestling. Do not, if your value your sanity or your mentions, criticise “The Boss” on Twitter. Just be grateful she’s so good you don’t really want to criticise her anyway.
Expect fans to keep pouring into arenas wearing “The Blueprint’s” merch in the coming weeks and months and don’t be surprised if a Sasha Banks chant becomes the new CM Punk chant next time fans are forced to endure an interminable promo. The recent Sasha Krew 4 Life sign that WWE tried to erase from history last week could be just the tip of a very big iceberg.
