8 Recent WWE Storylines That Didn’t Go Anywhere

WWE's writers have had more than one opportunity to rid Raw of The Authority over the past five years. At times, this hasn't been necessary (the tyrannical group did help facilitate Daniel Bryan's main event rise, after all), but it absolutely was at WrestleMania 34.
After that show, the overbearing power couple vibe Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have enjoyed should have been over. It wasn't, and that meant one of the show's biggest storylines was rendered pointless. Not only that, but Raw continues to suffer from the tired concept of a babyface authority figure being overruled by an oppressive heel superior.
Stephanie's apparent refusal to show any sustainable weakness isn't the example of WWE betraying their own angle recently. Since the turn of the year, the promotion have started several stories that haven't been concluded, and it's all rather frustrating.
Why even bother if there's no end goal in sight?
Sometimes, a satisfying ending hasn't been possible due to injury. Other times, WWE have shown they're moving too quickly to stop, realise they're expecting fans to invest in these stories and, y'know, actually come through on closure...
