8 Things To Expect From CM Punk In 2020

8. Back In The Game

With CM Punk now having a working relationship of sorts with WWE – he may be employed by FOX, but he works alongside WWE personnel, commentating on WWE happenings, in an environment approved by WWE – it seems only logical to think that the Straight Edge Superstar may be being primed to be a playable character in WWE 2K21.

The last time that gamers were able to take control of a non-CAW version of CM Punk in a WWE release was back in WWE 2K15, and that has since been followed by the Chicagoan being on the roster for UFC 3. Although, let's face it, who would select Punk to go up against some of the UFC's finest?

Much like Punk now has an agreement with FOX, the multiple-time World Champion could just as easily undertake similar negotiations with 2K Sports and Visual Concepts to appear in the next WWE video game.

Famously, Ultimate Warrior and Bill Goldberg both agreed deals with 2K to be featured in a video game before later coming to terms with WWE over a return, and Sting's appearance in WWE 2K15 led to him debuting for WWE at Survivor Series 2014.

After the utter nightmare that was WWE 2K20, it’s going to take a heavy marketing push to try and win over those left in awe at the glitchy trash on offer from the most recent WWE video game. And adding the Second City Saint to WWE 2K21 would at least be a small step in the right direction for those left frustrated by WWE 2K20.
