CM Punk is back in the media with a new interview with Sports Illustrated. Which is no surprise, but this latest interview is a must read for Punk fans and wrestling fans in general. The fighter and former WWE champion is in the process of transitioning to a career in mixed martial arts with the UFC, and he touches both on his burgeoning fight career, and time spent with the world's largest pro wrestling outfit. It is, in truth, a fascinating article. Not because of any shocking new revelations but because of how frank and honest Punk is, and how at ease he now seems to be with his pro wrestling past. Even a few months seem to have softened him: compare this interview to his blow up during an interview with Off the Record's Michael Landsberg, for example. It seems to be more than just that, however. Punk at this point is very analytical about his career transition, and about the differences between his former and current career. He also recognizes that he's in a great place, as he should. In any case, there's lots more learned with this latest look into the backroom dealings of the WWE and his jump to the UFC, so lets examine eight things we learned!
