Two other babyface title challenges took place at the event, and unfortunately neither were able to replicate Kalisto in winning gold. The Uso Brothers, desperately in need of a freshening of their act, came up short against New Day in the quest for tag team gold thanks in part to the interference of Xavier Woods and the power of Big E. Becky Lynch was defeated by Charlotte because Ric Flair threw his jacket at her. Yeah, you read that last sentence correctly. Becky Lynch was moments from winning her first championship in WWE when she locked in her Disarmer arm bar finish on Charlotte. Lady Flair wasn't getting to the ropes any time soon, and it was just a matter of time before the tap came. Enter Ric Flair and his jacket. Ric gets up on the apron and carefully throws his jacket at Becky, which lands on her head. She relinquishes the hold, giving Charlotte a chance to recover and hit a spear for the victory. Is there a more storied jacket in sports entertainment? Why did Becky release the hold? Charlotte wasn't getting to the ropes any time soon, and having a jacket on her head didn't impede her in applying the arm bar. Sure, it would be annoying, but the fact that WWE babyfaces continue to be distracted by the slightest thing has gotten old. The Usos fell foul of outside distractions too, with Xavier Woods performing his modern day Jimmy Hart act to a tee. Still, this act is nothing new, and Jimmy and Jey themselves have experienced it on a number of occasions. Why not bring out someone themselves? Or better yet, don't give up a strong position just to shout at someone outside the ring.
