8 Things You Didn't Know About WWE's Kyoki (FKA Hiromu Takahashi)
5. Holds A Best Of The Super Juniors Record
So inspired by Masahiro Chono, Hiromu Takahashi adopted his idol's attachment to tournament wrestling, and, with 4 trophies sitting in his closet, he currently holds the record for the most 'Best Of The Super Juniors' triumphs.
First entering New Japan's annual junior heavyweight league in 2012, Takahashi was still a Young Lion and decidedly put in a performance befitting his status. That became expected of Hiromu in subsequent brackets. It wasn't until he returned from excursion as 'The Ticking Time Bomb' that Takahashi found his calling, delivering an all-time run ahead of his first BOSJ win in 2018. That, to reiterate, preceded his ill-timed broken neck diagnosis mere weeks later, putting a temporary closure on his career-defining run.
Once recovered, though, Takahashi went on a 3-tournament winning streak, walking out with the trophy in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
As an aside, Hiromu's tournament glory continued once he was promoted to the heavyweight division, as, alongside LIJ frontman Tetsuya Naito, he scored top marks to win the World Tag League in 2024. Post-New Japan, he won Pro Wrestling NOAH's Junior Grand Prix in late 2025.
