8 Time-Bending Wrestling Facts That Will Melt Your Brain
5. Triple H Is Older Now Than Vince McMahon Was In 1998
Vince McMahon is one of those people who just always appeared to be old on television. As the lead announcer for WWE, he automatically felt like a senior figure in the eyes of fans everywhere. He then assumed the role of the Mr. McMahon character in the aftermath of The Montreal Screwjob, feuding with Steve Austin and becoming one of the central figures of the Attitude Era. Again, Vince played the part of an older man to perfection.
Paul Levesque is now the man who runs WWE in the eyes of the audience. Maybe it's that WWE fans have grown up with the person known as Hunter Hurst Helmsley, 'The Game', 'The Cerebral Assassin', 'The King Of Kings', and a whole host of other nicknames, but it is bizarre to consider that Levesque is now older (56 turning 57) than Vince McMahon was in 1998 (52 turning 53).
We don't think that Levesque is going to replicate any of the more insane things that McMahon went on to do after 1998. No matter how many shovel-centric punchlines fans decide to indulge in, he is unlikely to enter or win next year's Royal Rumble. Nevertheless, it is wild to consider that Levesque is older than Vince McMahon was when Steve Austin twatted him in his hospital bed with a bedpan.
