5. Shawn Michaels In Saudi Arabia

Shawn Michaels has one of the best showreels in the history of pro wrestling.

Be it matches, moments, storylines or even his story away from the ring, HBK is a wrestler who has an almost flawless career by whatever metric you want to judge it. We say almost flawless because, try as we might, fans everywhere have to contend with the mess he got himself into in Saudi Arabia at Crown Jewel 2018.

Outside of the size of the payoff and the demands being made by money men in Saudi, there was absolutely no need for the match to happen pitting The Brothers Of Destruction vs. Triple H and Shawn Michaels (reuniting D-Generation X again!) in 2018. These are men with incredible legacies who were all way past their prime, because ol' Father Time spares nobody.

After Triple H tore a pectoral muscle early in the match, Shawn was then tasked with carrying a lot more of the match than was anticipated.

The crowd became actively disinterested, as the plodding pace and some incredibly shoddy work (Kane losing his mask and wig, HBK's tragic top rope moonsault to the outside) took its toll. Nobody was expecting a 'Match Of The Year' candidate from this, but the fact this currently stands as Shawn Michaels' last time in a wrestling ring is an incredibly sad state of affairs.
