No WWE main roster wrestler has been as consistent as Seth Rollins in 2018, with 'The Kingslayer's' continued excellence as both a midcard chaser and champion drawing renewed calls for a Universal Championship push.

Rollins has always been popular, but never this over. His "BURN IT DOWN!" sting draws a hearty roar every single time. A hot atmosphere is guaranteed whenever he steps between the ropes, and this is largely down to the man's reinvention as a high-workrate scrapper. His show-stealing performance in Raw's two-hour gauntlet was a stunning reminder of how great he can be, but it was only the beginning, and with 2017 standouts AJ Styles and Roman Reigns struggling for any kind of consistency, bouts with the likes of Finn Balor, Dolph Ziggler, and The Miz position Rollins as 2018's 'Wrestler Of The Year' clubhouse leader.

His success is proof that wrestling needn't be complicated. Rollins is surging because he's an excellent athlete and an underrated between-the-ropes storyteller, and the company are letting him show it. That's all there is to it.

It's hard to predict what the rest of his year will bring, but the main event clamour is understandable. Nobody else is operating on as high a level at the moment. He's the most organically over wrestler on Raw, and though Reigns and Strowman are likelier Brock Lesnar successors, Seth's popularity makes him a strong candidate.
