8 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (22 April)

That the Rich Swann vs. Kenny Omega build isn’t even in the main event spot of the card every week is a testament to not only how well the story has been pulled off, but to the work ethic of everyone involved.

Swann called out Omega following ‘The Best Bout Machine’ putting his hands on Rich last Thursday, with Kenny and Don Callis instead appearing via satellite. ‘The Invisible Hand’ promised that when – not if - Omega lifts the IMPACT World Championship that he’ll be a regular fixture on IMPACT programming as well as AEW programming, all while gloating over needing another house, another bank account, etc.

This was all followed by Moose returning for the first time since March’s Sacrifice special, as ‘The Wrestling God’ demanded Swann leave Rebellion with the win over Omega or else he’ll be forced to pay the consequences to Moose himself.

Ideally, Swann and Omega would have shared a ring for the final IMPACT before the pay-per-view, but this sufficed. They were both tremendous on the mic, as was Callis with his snide comments. The return of Moose only added further fuel to the fire. He’s not been seen in weeks, only coming back when the time was right.

The guy is too good a wrestler to not be at the top of the card.
