8 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (June 5)
7. Anderson's Upset
In a match designed solely to give the impression that the Good Brothers stand a chance against the Bludgeons at Money In The Bank, Karl Anderson and his new abs met Harper in a singles match last night. It lasted only a shade over two minutes, but it was entirely effective, and it started with a bang.
Harper, always one of WWE's most athletic big men, hit Anderson with a dropkick at the bell. He battered the smaller guy with strikes, went for the eyes, then downed him with a Sidewalk Slam, but Karl fought back. His fire-up created the opening he needed to score an opportunistic roll-up, and Harper was put away in just over two minutes.
Anderson and Gallows celebrated on the ramp afterwards, with Harper and Rowan left stewing at ringside. They're almost certainly going to get their arses handed to them at the pay-per-view, but WWE needed to at least make the Good Brothers' challenge believable, and likely accomplished that for a lot of fans last night.
