An ingenious contest that built with bravery considering its placement at the very end of another absorbing evening, Edge and The Undertaker's understated epic was one of the most satisfying WrestleMania headliners ever.

Edge piling counters on top of counters was a bold step away from his 'Ultimate Opportunist' veneer, but he assembled one of his finest ever performances to present himself strictly as a wily sneak rather than a plucky and gritty underdog.

It was 'The Deadman' with the task at hand. With a streak to protect and a title to win, it subverted the annual narrative. 'Taker outwrestled his way to victory, the exact way a new World Champion - supernaturally inspired or otherwise - should.
