As lame and soft as the finish to Wardlow vs. Scorpio Sky was, the post-match angle was everything it needed to be.

Aided by some expert selling from Wardlow, who doesn't get the credit he deserves in this department, it saw the newly-minted babyface struck down by a crew of mercenaries. The envelope of cash that made its way from MJF's pocket to Dan Lambert's hand bout American Top Team's support for the night, regardless of whether or not it was necessary: Shawn Spears and his two steel chairs did plenty of damage in the first place.

MJF's diamond ring shot put Wardlow to sleep, as it had done for Max at Revolution, the site of his former bodyguard's betrayal. Perfect symmetry.

A nod, too, to the commentators, who did a great job of explaining why no babyface ran out to help Wardlow. The guy has been in MJF's service for over two years - and MJF is the worst guy in this fictional universe. Why would anyone want to help him here? He has alienated everybody.
