8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Feb 17)
3. Santana & Ortiz Fall Short
Santana and Ortiz lost their World Tag Team Title match with The Young Bucks, working your writer to no end, but it was a good television bout and the former LAX's meatiest offering in months.
An early Magic Killer attempt from the Bucks was countered as the Inner Circle men took control. MJF's interference led to the entire IC being sent to the back, but this had little effect on Santana and Ortiz, at least initially. They isolated Nick Jackson and wore him down in their corner, building to Matt's popping hot tag that culminated in a two-count off a spinning Stunner. Big Santana and Ortiz bombs came after that, including the Street Sweeper for a two after a missed BTE Trigger. Victory was then within their clutches as Matt was launched into the crowd, but alas, Nick scored an insane cradle for the defence.
Santana and Ortiz looked totally fed up afterwards, perhaps tired of Inner Circle bullsh*t shadowing their careers as the mob returned to beat the Bucks down. Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers dithering on their save before Anderson and Gallows showed up without the AEW World Champion keeps that storyline bubbling away nicely as well.
