Across various singles and tag combinations, Ken Shamrock and The Rock fought seven times on pay-per-view in 1998, but the trade-off of wins and losses rarely favoured the 'World's Most Dangerous Man' despite a popular King Of The Ring win in June.

Though Rock was still working an Attitude Era Honky Tonk Man gimmick during January's Royal Rumble clash, the dam had already burst by WrestleMania - his self-diagnosed "electrifying" charisma flooding WWE television in sensational style.

Old school booking commanded Ken finally get his big win here, but the title remained on The Rock to further tension in The Nation Of Domination set to be paid off with Farooq's overthrowing as leader just one night later.
