Downs…

7. Who’s That In The Crowd?

There is no denying that WWE is a hot product right now and is extremely popular with people of all stripes.

However, WWE is not only aware of this broad appeal, but they’re hellbent on force-feeding proof of this broad appeal down fans’ throats at every turn. This has manifested on Raw on Netflix with repeated shots of celebrities in the audience watching the action from ringside… only for them to disappear in the next segment.

The Royal Rumble served as another platform for WWE to navel-gaze some more, scanning the crowd for celebrities and Hall-of-Famers to show onscreen enjoying the action (or in John Mellencamp’s case, wondering when they’d get the camera off him).

We get it; you’re popular. There’s no need to keep showing every notable public person who attends an event. Maybe focus on putting forth an entertaining product rather than telling everyone how entertaining your product is by showing famous people enjoying themselves.
