In March 2020, NXT faced the same problem as every wrestling organisation that elected to carry on promoting shows in the face of obvious reasons not to.
Unlike those organisations, NXT didn't come up with a workable solution.
For too long, the company persisted with the desolate Full Sail University site without the crucial component that had made the venue such a cauldron. Much like WWE at large, they could be forgiven for figuring things out as they went, but so little changed with the aesthetic that even Raw and SmackDown became more manageable as a result.
It also brought into focus how many of the talents lacked a certain presence without the undying love of the devoted locals. Overproduced entrances had never looked so silly, and match construction needed a rethink it never received. Never were both foibles any clearer than at...
