8. Mixed Tag A Mixed Bag
One of the best parts of SmackDown since the roster split has been the ascension of the Miz as an upper-midcard heel. So naturally, he and wife Maryse got to play second fiddle to a Total Bellas angle at WrestleMania.
The feud between the two couples wasn’t entirely bad (though it originally looked to be Dean Ambrose and Renee Young who were gearing up for the rivalry), with Miz and Maryse doing a brutal takedown of John Cena and Nikki Bella’s relationship. And Cena and Nikki used some colorful language to show their anger.
The match itself was absolutely nothing special, with Miz getting cheered like crazy as he slow-walked through a pedestrian match with Cena. Of course, the end saw Cena and Bella hit their finishers for a double pin. And then… Cena proposed to Nikki in the middle of the ring. Obviously, she said “yes.”
Cute moment, but it was a super-clichéd moment as well.
