It was always going to be tough to follow-up on the hype surrounding the first Tuesday night episode of NXT after such a riveting TakeOver-boasting WrestleMania week, but the black and gold show definitely gave it the old college try.

A returning Kyle O'Reilly, fresh off of drag racing with his old Undisputed brother in a hospital bed, promised a new focus at the top of the card when it came to the men's side of things, and the debut of Joshi superstar Sarray also added some new energy to the women's division.

Io Shirai also reared her head on NXT television for the first time since her legendary NXT Women's Championship reign came to a screeching halt at Stand and Deliver, kick-starting a blood-feud with canines in the process. Of course, the pain in the ass that is the ongoing love saga between Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell threatened to derail the whole night, but at least LA Knight didn't end the evening looking up at the lights again... so that's something.

It's important not to linger too long on the persistent negatives infecting The Way's corner of the black and gold brand as the show still brings a lot of good to the Tuesday night table. GYV being the new dirtiest players in the game, seeds being planted for an eventual implosion between Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez, and a dominant faction seemingly growing by the week are just a few of the reasons why there's still hope to be found on the developmental brand...
