8 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE NXT Takeover: Unstoppable

1. Owens Was Made To Be A Heel

Kevin Owens is so unique in his mannerisms and how he speaks that some fans completely miss the fact that he€™s a nearly perfect dirtbag heel. As mentioned before, Owens doesn€™t yell his promos. He doesn€™t automatically run away from a fight, but he also will beat a retreat if the situation dictates it. He works in snide comments constantly, getting himself over as a bully without resorting to every cheap tactic in the book. Following on the heels of a wildly successful appearance on Raw where he laid out John Cena, Owens owned Unstoppable. Right away, he dropped a gem as he walked by the scene of Hideo Itami beaten up, muttering, €œThat€™s a shame,€ as he kept walking. Interviewed backstage, Owens shot Greg Hamilton a look for apologizing for interrupting him but still asking a question. €œYou€™re sorry, but you did it anyway?€ he sneered. The other thing Owens did to really push things was mocking John Cena (his €œveteran advice€ line from Raw, the €œYou can€™t see me€ hand wave) and then wearing Cena€™s U.S. Championship T-shirt during his ring entrance. If you don€™t get Owens or don€™t like him, hopefully you will give him a fair shot. He€™s got all the tools to be something pretty special and something very different than every other cookie-cutter superstar we seemingly get. In less than two weeks, we€™ll get to see how he fares against John Cena, which could be an eye-opener for most fans. Set your DVRs.
