8. What Is This, 2007?

Don’t adjust your sets. If MVP versus Rey Mysterio sounds like a SmackDown match from more than a decade ago, it’s because it was. But it was happening again Monday night.

Mysterio squared off against a returning MVP, who was one of Brock Lesnar’s sacrificial lambs in the Royal Rumble. MVP did fine in this match, hanging with Rey, but ultimately, Mysterio wasn’t going to lose to a guy last seen in WWE nearly 11 years ago, and who was a midcarder at best during his previous tenure.

Whether this is only a limited run for MVP or a longer stint for the former United States Champion, it doesn’t hurt to see a familiar face return once in a while.
