8. Lawler Rejuvenated

Did anyone else notice how on-point Jerry “The King” Lawler sounded Monday night?

The King had devolved into self-parody so much in recent years that it was all anyone could do to not call on him to be put out to pasture for good. In his return to the announce desk recently, Lawler was mediocre at best, slowly getting better each week.

Monday marked a turning point, as he was in a two-man booth and served as a heelish commentator really well overall. Sure, there were the usual missteps here and there, but overall, he was quite effective.

Maybe it had something to do with a two-man booth, as Dio Maddin still hasn’t returned from a single F5 three weeks ago.
