7. Announcing Next Week’s Matches
Before TLC ended Sunday night, we knew that Finn Balor and Dolph Ziggler would face each other, and Vince McMahon would show up to “shake things up” a bit. It was good to have a bit of a preview.
Monday night, we learned almost the entire card for the following week’s episode, with a triple threat, a Raw Women’s Championship, a street fight and a grudge match being booked.
Granted, this is entirely the result of Christmas Eve Raw being taped immediately following this week’s edition, but you had to admit that it was pretty nice to know several matches on the books for the following week. It helps sell the episode and give you as a fan something to look forward to. Even one or two matches is enough to show some forethought rather than the entire show being “booked” during the opening segment.
It would be nice if this starts a trend that continues into 2019, but let’s not hold our breaths.
